VISTA, Calif. -- A 16-year-old boy was hospitalized Monday for major injuries that he suffered in an apparent drunken driving crash in Vista over the weekend, a San Diego county sheriff's deputy said.The boy was driving southbound in the 500 block of West California Avenue when his vehicle slammed into a large tree around 3:20 a.m. Sunday, said sheriff's Deputy Dwain Washington.
The teen was taken to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido with major injuries to his lower body, Washington said, adding that drunken driving is suspected.
